About Us

The Bowmen of Malgrave Archery Club was  formed in 1983, and is based in the Basildon area of Essex. The club meets on a Sunday afternoon at Basildon Rugby Club from April to mid-October or Appleton School in Benfleet from Mid - October to April.

A relatively small but friendly  club, we have diverse interests, being heavily involved both in Target and Field Archery.

It meets regularly to compete in the Essex County Target leagues,  indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer.  

Among our membership the main thrust is towards Recurve archery, but we do cater for Compound and Longbow.

The Club is commonly represented at the large proportion of Target tournaments in Essex, and its archers are often found roaming the  Field Archery courses of Southern England. The Club has also been represented in Northern Ireland, Wales, Germany, Holland, France and Luxembourg

We welcome new members both experienced and novice.
